The best thing about being a Wesleyan student is that there is never a shortage of events to attend, groups and causes to support, or new people to meet. As an American Studies major with a concentration in Inter-American Affairs, I am allowed both the flexibility to take a wide range of courses and the opportunity to think critically and interdisciplinarily. Drawing on my classroom experiences and my independent research as a Mellon Mays undergraduate fellow, I decided to study abroad in Nicaragua and Costa Rica the spring semester of my junior year. I am excited to return to campus with primary research data and a wealth of academic, political, and social experiences. I look forward to sharing my stories and findings from abroad with the kids I tutor at Traverse Square, my fellow Reslife staff members, my professors and all of my friends!
