Raymond Kardas ’42
I am prompted by your recent "Because" photo request.
It is a pleasure to contribute to the Wesleyan Fund, which I will do earlier than usual.
I would like to pay tribute to Russell "Butch" Limbach, art professor at Wesleyan when I returned after more than three years, being drafted in June 1942 at the end of my junior year.
On reentry to Wesleyan in June 1945 I finished my major in physics and had an interest in art, painting, and photography stimulated by "Butch's" hands-on-art creations. This stimulus has lasted a lifetime (I'm 92+ years old now) so I can state an education is not for a job but an education is for enjoying life!
Thank you, Wesleyan!
