Wesleyan Partners with 92nd Street Y for Giving Tuesday Campaign December 3

July 20, 2016

Thanks-giving/ noun
1. The expression of gratitude
2. An annual national holiday commemorating the Pilgrims' harvest festival in 1621; the traditional kick-off to the holiday shopping season (see also Black Friday and Cyber Monday).

This year Wesleyan alumni will be able to add "Giving Tuesday" to their personal definition of the holiday. Launched by the 92nd Street Y in New York as a counterpoint to the post-turkey shopping-palooza, Giving Tuesday is a day for people to give back to their world, in dollars, service and time. Hundreds of organizations, including Wesleyan, have partnered with 92Y to make it happen.

On that day, Tuesday, Dec. 3, the Wesleyan Fund is conducting a one-day campaign to support our Give Nowalma mater through contributions. Your gift through the Fund, no matter how small, helps the University with its current needs, including financial aid. Without the $5, $10 and $25 gifts from thousands of alumni (that accumulate to more than $10 million each year), the Wesleyan experience would not be what it is. Give now.

Watch the video below to hear Stuart Ellman '88, Board President of the 92Y, explain Wesleyan's one-day campaign to support the University through gifts large and small on Giving Tuesday.

Giving Tuesday is a great way to give back to Wesleyan and make sure the experience you valued so much continues for a new generation of students. And it’s easy! On Dec. 3, go here to give back: https://thisiswhy.wesleyan.edu/givenow. Visit on your desktop PC, laptop, tablet, or mobile phone - the Wesleyan giving site is now compatible with a wide range of mobile devices.
